The National Fetal and Infant Mortality Review (NFIMR) Program is a collaborative effort between the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and the federal Maternal and Child Health Bureau. Fetal and Infant Mortality Review (FIMR) is an action-oriented community process that continually assesses, monitors, and works to improve service systems and community resources for women, infants, and families. NFIMR develops publications, provides information and technical assistance, and facilitates opportunities for discussion among FIMR projects working in communities around the country. Assistance from NFIMR is available to individuals and communities interested in starting new FIMR projects, as well as established programs looking to fine-tune specific aspects of the process.
